The first Zeppelin to be truly successful. Made a number of flights of significant duration before being enlarged and bought by the German Army in 1908. Used for training, operating from Metz, until decommissioned in 1913.
On 30 September 1907 it made a flight lasting 7 hours 54 minutes, flying over land the first time. It flew north as far as Ravensburg.
